Ok. I admit it. I am a sucker for things historic—I went to the College of William and Mary, largely because I loved the history of the place—I have a thing for plantations and Museums, and old churches. So, I was happy to be asked to officiate at a wedding at Pharsalia Plantation. It’s been a while since my last visit. The wedding is tomorrow, but I went wild with pics at today’s wedding rehearsal. You have GOT to see these!
I should tell you, that Foxy Morgan, a descendant of the original owner and, who with her husband, is the current owner, is a friendly soul, who just gives and gives some more. You want flowers for your wedding? She’s a gardener extraordinaire. She will offer you your choice from her many gardens. She is also detail oriented. So you can be certain that she will take care of every little thing—for instance, this time of year, bug spray in the bathrooms!
Since my last visit, Foxy has added a huge tent, for rainy-day affairs, and benches in their front yard, for wedding guests—for surely you will want the glorious mountains and orchards as the backdrop for your vows. Those benches add to the historic décor, and also save you, the couple,
from having to rent chairs. Oh, and did I mention that Foxy invites guests to tour the historic home after the wedding service, during the reception? Now I ask you, how nice is that?
Enjoy the pics. To find out more, got to:
