Elopements

Elopements are typically small, intimate weddings including the couple, the officiant and sometimes a small gathering of close friends and family members. There is generally no rehearsal. Elopements, also known as micro-weddings, have the advantage that not much space is needed.  In fact, almost any lovely spot will do.  I have officiated at micro-weddings in private homes, in parks, at vineyards, on the Grounds at UVA, at beaches, beside the canal in Richmond, and at guest houses, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and air B&B’s.  I also marry couples in my backyard.  Of course, small weddings are not as expensive as weddings–a definite plus if you are on a budget.

If you want to marry midweek, I can be available for a small wedding on short notice.

I have officiated at many elopements and small weddings.  I enjoy serving the needs and desires of engaged couples whatever their preferences.

George and Sandra eloped at an inn on the outskirts of Charlottesville

This couple eloped at a park, but their wedding photos were taken with Mount Vernon as a backdrop.

At this wedding everyone except the couple kept socially distant.

Intimate wedding at a park, just the couple, me, and the couple’s little boy.

This couple married before a small gathering at the Virginia House, Richmond

This elopement on St. Patrick's day, took place at a Guest House in Stanardsville

A St Patrick’s Day wedding at a Guest House. The couple, me, and a photographer in attendance.  Intimate.

A small wedding at this couple’s home with family members present. Afterward everyone celebrated at a local restaurant. So memorable!
