There’s a new wedding venue in the Charlotteville/Wintergreen vicinity—Wild Wolf. I was privileged to officiate at the first-ever wedding at this very hospitable brewery. I would say that at this point it is too early to commit to recommending this as the go-to spot for your wedding, though.
One reason it is too early to commit, is because the evening of the wedding was rainy and cold. I saw very little of the outside of the facility—and this was my first visit and only visit. I understand, though, from an on-line search, that the property boasts a working water wheel, a gazebo, and a Koi pond. The wedding, though, was inside, in a gathering space that is long and narrow. It was in no way beautiful, nor was it meant to be. It was decidedly rustic—as bars and beer pubs tend to be.
I can speak for the extremely solicitous staff. They were at the ready to take care of every little need. They turned off the heater (which was noisy) for the service, and they worked with the person the couple had elected to handle the programed i-pod music, so that it flowed through the venue’s sound system. The wedding service itself was seamless.
Alas, I did not stay for the reception, so I can’t speak for the food and beer fare either. Again, searching on-line, I learned that the brew master though, studied at the Siebel institute in Chicago. I am thinking this means that the beer is very good indeed. Wild Wolf prides itself as being “One of the fastest growing craft beer breweries in Virginia.”
However, since I have not seen the layout of the facility, or tasted the beer or the reception fare, I am afraid it is too early to commit to recommending this venue for your wedding. I hope to visit again soon. Then, of course, I will be sure to write a follow-up blog!
